A long time dream came to fruition for tour producer, Reinhold Vatter, when he enlisted the ten piece band, The Detroit Allstars Gang and a slew of renowned soul singers for his new project, The Spirit of Motown. The first leg of the tour kicked off on April 2nd in Ahaus Germany, with standing ovations and sold out audiences singing along to famous soulful classics, sung by Daniel Dodd-Ellis, Dennis, LeGree, Kevin Weatherspoon, Regi Jennings, Monica Lewis, Journi Cook, and Amani Robinson. All three of the first concerts were sold out and received rave reviews. Stay tuned for the next tour dates!
Daniel is currently performing the role of Paul in Cole Porter’s hit musical, Kiss Me Kate at Staatstheater Darmstadt. The production, based on Shakespeare’s, The Taming of the Shrew, is directed by Erik Peterson and with stunning choreography by Sabine Arthold. Petersen’s direction, along with a breathtaking, rotating scenic design, offer a rare look at all aspects of the stage performance and help to ingeniously tell the story of this “play within a play”. The show runs until the end of June, so don’t miss out!
